So before the Olympics we did a few #superfan interview. Our first superfan was Mr Alistair Burton aka Dex Dexter.. Being a self confessed superfan and a notorious pro stalker it should have come as no suprise when I was sent a picture message titled “look what I just got”. I called Dex to find out what he was on about.. As you may know GT did custom Olympic frames for all their team riders pre Olympics. Now unfortunately for France’s Manon Valentino she never made the team.. Somehow #superfan Dex managed to score her custom frame and has built it up into a sweet looking ride…
So Dex, how have you come to own one of the ‘one off’ bikes produced this year for the GT pros for London 2012?
Dex:Luck really. I like the GT frames anyway as I was riding a Stay Strong edition and as soon as I saw the French editions online I knew I wanted one. The lines, the colours, the whole thing just worked for me. I was smitten.
Being the #Superfan I am. I harassed people online and made it known that I thought it was the best thing ever.
I was super lucky that Manon Valentino decided to part company with one of her frames and that she remembered how interested I was. The rest, as they say, is history.
I have to say, not only is Manon rad as hell, she is also one of the nicest people to deal with and I feel extremely lucky to be able to own one of her bikes.
I’d say I could be one of her biggest fans now but with @MA61 around I’ll never be the biggest fan
People have asked me if it was going to go on the wall but it just can’t. The bike was made to be ridden and ride it I will (although not as well as Manon I’m sure).
You’ve built her up with some nice parts which is to be expected..I’ve spec’ed it up the way I want, trying to make it functional but aesthetically right for the frame.

There you have it, get online, stalk the pro’s on twitter and you too could own an Olympic bike.. I know Khalen Young has his complete Olympic Bike which he is looking to sell so don’t be shy of dropping him a message on Facebook or Twitter and let him know that @BMX_Talk sent you!
