Gunner Visits

USA BMX Hall Of Fame

So… while over in the US of A checking out the amazing Chula Vista Olympic Centre, our roving reporter and all round nice guy Vet, Gunner took in a tour of the BMX Hall of Fame.

The place looks amazing, with classic jerseys, bikes and helmets, right through to the Beijing Olympic bikes of Kyle Bennett (RIP) and Jill Kitner. This is the place to check out for the typical BMX geek.
It also got us thinking here at Talk HQ. What if there was a UK version? I mean we have had some serious superstars over the years, with numerous World, European, British and National plates, running through from the early 80’s to present day (David Maw, Andy Ruffell, Sarah Jane Nicholls to name just a very few etc etc). There has also been some iconic UK brands that really stood out over the years (MRD, Halfords, Raleigh – back in the day). It could even be cool to see the Olympic bikes of Liam and Shanaze?
Wouldn’t it be cool if one of the many unused rooms at the Manchester National Cycling Centre was used for our very own Hall of Fame, and to showcase the BMX history, roots, heroes and stories… you could even have a shop selling HoF merchandise and Team GB tops?
We for one would like to see this happen… but for now, here are a few spy pics from the USA Hall of Fame. Some real treats on show here guys….
