British Champs history.

So the next big race in the UK race calendar is the British BMX Champioships at Perry Park track in Birmingham.
The first track to hold a British Champs was Derby Greyhound stadium.

Shooter @ Derby.

I was lucky enough to race there and i can honestly say it was a big deal at the time, huge crowds and the track was set inside the greyhound track , and if my memory serves me correctly it looked pretty amazing, but my brain is a bit mushy now haha, i always remember having to do really well at regionals because you had to be in the top 8 in your age to qualify for the Champs race, and that was hard work back then because the sport was massive and very competetive.
Anyway….over the next few weeks i am going to try and relive at bit of the history of British Champs races in the UK, so here are a couple of vids from the NBMXA British Champs at Derby Stadium.
