BMX racer , trails rider , metal fan and all round nice guy.
This week we asked Cal Strickland for his top 5 tracks , Cal is a super good rider who seems to get better year on year, he is always in the mix and is pretty much the complete BMX’er, Cal is one of those guys who just goes for it , you will not see him backing off, he always just SENDS IT !!!
Here is his top 5………
Mainly since the new first and second straights have been built, as it’s the only place in the UK where you can go and ride jumps of that size. I just love going fast and doing big jumps. The new second straight pro section keeps you on your toes even if you’ve jumped it loads of times, but when you get it right it feels awesome. The third and last straights are tech and flow well and it feels great to put a good full lap together around that track.
Super fast and smooth, every jump is built properly, the pro section is fun but challenging and I always have fun racing there.
My all time favourite National track. The first straight is a bit of a slog but it shows who’s got the pull and I think the whole track flows really well with another tech rhythm on the third straight.
Another super fast track. I raced here earlier this year and it has a huge triple on the second straight, which was pretty fun to do. The third straight was a long jumpy rhythm, which was also pretty fun.
I love racing at Crewe because it’s a fast and close track and every straight is pretty tech. The Bob Field Grands was one of my favourite races.
Thanks very much Cal ,and all the best for 2014 from BMXTalk HQ
