Close Up: GT Speed Series

There are allot of interesting bikes out on the track at the moment, and one which is becoming more and more popular is the newest GT Speed series, Personally I quite like them but I could see why someone wouldn’t. there are allot of cool features on this frame.

This Particular GT belongs to Championship Women rider Amelia Silvestre, so thanks to her for letting me take pictures of her bike.

One of the first things I noticed on this bike were the drop outs, these took a while to grow on me as at first I felt they screamed Mountain Bike, but now I think seeing them as a whole bike you dont really notice it too much and they’re actually quite similar to CycleCraft Drop outs.

The second thing I noticed was that these frames dont come with an ordinary integrated seat clamp, what I can only describe as an internal seat clamp as it is built into the top tube, so if you like slammed seats this could be the bike for you, as the frame has a super low slung geometry which makes it look fast.

Overall I think this frame definitely has the potential to be quite a popular frame choice for a lot of riders, it has all of the key factors really, it has a nice paint job, it’s available as a complete bike, and to me I think they just look like they are a racing machine!
