Ghp Race report from rounds 3&4 of the British National series
Rounds 3&4 were at Cyclopark Gravesend on a very tough and challenging track even at Elite level. Not only was the track challenging the weather unfortunately was not on our side this weekend with gale force winds and rain on the Saturday morning made racing very difficult, but the team battled on and really did produce the results this weekend.
Rocco (Roccstar) Brant pedalled his little socks off in 7 year old boys and managed 7th place on Sat and Sun. Felix Twitchett was on fire this weekend never lost a lap all day Saturday then did the same on Sunday in the motos and finished 2nd in the final. Rupert Twitchet just like his brother produced the goods and finished 2nd on both days. Tom Whipham had a nasty crash in practice but battled on and got 2nd on Sat and a 3rd on the Sun. In 45+ class we had Chris (007) Maddren, Chris Brant and Gaz Wilson 45+ this season so far has been a very tough class and exciting to watch the boys gave it everything 007 got 6th on sat and 4th on Sun, Gaz got 2nd (B final) on Sat then 6th on Sun, Chris Brant got really unlucky on Sat and went out in quarters then 5th (B final) on Sun. Now onto the girls young Lily Brindle gave 110% and just missed out on the podium on Sat with a 4th then not settled with that pushed even more on Sun to get 3rd. Sienna Harvey had a tough Semi final on Sat and got the dreaded 5th but then gave everything in the B final to get 1st place then Sunday bounced back and produced 4th place on Sun. Isla Harvey had really tough weekend in 11-12 girls she tried her hardest as always but just didn’t go her way. Miss Molly Cranshaw celebrated her Birthday on Sat and even full on Birthday cake still produced a fantastic 4th place then even better on Sun chassed her team mate to finish 2nd. Lauren Anyon didn’t even notice the wind and conditions this weekend it was like she was shot out of a cannon on every lap she never lost a lap the entire weekend. Libby Smith had a tough weekend battling with the wind so not been able to show her full potential she was 1st into the first corner but got her back wheel tagged and crashed and ended up 5th on Sat then gave it everything on Sun and got 3rd. W3 Louise produced the goods as always and lived up to that worlds title 1st place on both days. Championship rider Willis White had it really tough mixing with the Elite Men but he gave it everything on Sat night and managed 2nd place, Sunday was a lot tougher the wind was that bad they had to close the Pro section Willis gave it everything but with the high winds he struggled then got tangled with another rider in the quarters and got the dreaded 5th.
Little superstar Eli Smith racing in 6 and under Boys showed his determination and no fear and got the job done with a 1st (B final) on Sat and 6th on Sun, keep your eye on this little one in the next few years. James Jackson got 4th, 7th and 5th on Sat so just missed out on going through then on Sun got 4th, 7th and 4th in motos then got the dreaded 5th in quarter. Ethan Jackson had a tough weekend but tried his hardest as always. Lewis Holmes was looking fantastic in practice on Friday night jumping all the first straight unfortunately with the wind on Sat and Sun this stopped him showing his great potential but he gave it everything he got 3rd (B final) Sat and dreaded 5th in quarters on Sun. Lisa Hilton pushed hard in 30+ ladies and got 11th on Sat and 10th on Sun
