Gosport BMX Club & Gosport Borough Council Presents
2013 British BMX Series Rounds 8 & 9
August 2-4
Welcome
On arrival, you will be directed to the “BMX event” via Grange Rd (PO13 8AS). Both car parking and camping will be located opposite the entrance to the bmx track. Entry is via double gates 200m from track entrance.
Please note the land we are using for camping and parking is HM Naval property.
Registration and Sign on Times
Registration for this event is via British Cycling’s online registration system. There is no paper or phone pre-entry format, so for those not taking advantage of the online system, entry on Friday evening and Saturday morning will still be available.
 Registration will be available on the following days and times:
– Friday the 2nd of August from 6pm until 8pm
– Saturday the 3rd of August from 8.30am until 10am
 Cash or cheques made payable to British Cycling are acceptable. Payment by card may be an option, but is not a guaranteed.

No pre-entry refunds will be given after Midday on the 31st of July.
No on the day entry refunds are offered.
Rules – British BMX Series
1) The youngest category for riders using clipless pedals is 13 years or above.
2) All competing riders must have a valid Silver or Gold membership and a 2013 British Cycling licence. No 2013 licence = No race
3) Non UK riders must have a valid 2013 UCI affiliated licence. No 2013 licence = No race
4) BC BMX Racing Regulations apply. The Race Format will be as per National Series Regulations. Where there are run offs to decide tied results after Moto 3 they will be run immediately after the Motos
5) Elite Men and Championship Men will use all Pro sections
6) All other categories will use the Challenge sections.
7) Number Plates
a) The required background colour must be clearly visible around and in-between all numbers used. The background colour must not be cut down to follow the contours of a number, but may be cut to follow the design of the number plate or to form one straight line defining the edge of the background.
b) All riders must compete using their final standing from the 2012 British BMX Series. Exceptions are:
2012 British Champions 01
2012 World finalists Prefix W
2012 European finalists Prefix E
Any rider not competing in the 2012 series Last 3 digits of your BC membership number
Non UK riders – Bring your own plate and we will advise you if the number needs to change
Championship and Elite riders may request a career number
Male 20” Yellow background – Black numbers
Female 20” Blue background – White numbers
Cruiser 24” Red background – White numbers
Elite Men White background – Black numbers
Championship Men & Women Black plate – White numbers

Schedule – Friday
Registration/Rider Check in from 6pm until 8pm
1) A copy of the pre registered riders will be posted – ALL riders must check the list and report anything that’s incorrect to registration
2) Riders not pre-registered must register by completing an on the day entry form. The signed entry form and payment must be handed in together when registering.
3) As soon as possible after registration closes a final pre-race list will be published of all riders by class on the display boards. It is the rider’s responsibility to check their entry and report any errors to Race Administration no later than 30 minutes before the start of racing. No changes will be accepted after that time and any incorrect entries may be disqualified.
Open Practice
This session is controlled by Gosport BMX Club and will cost all participants £3.00, to be paid at the cabin – All riders will be given a wristband which must be worn at all times. All participants must be valid British Cycling or international licence holders. All riders must have their number plate on their bike.
12 and under 5pm until 5.45pm

Please Note:
Schedules: especially on Sunday racing will be run with minimum delay – it is the rider’s responsibility to listen to commentary for the start of the next round of racing. Outside these specified practice and race times the track will be closed. Marshals and First Aid will not be available outside of these times. Riders/Parents/Team Managers take full responsibility for any incidents that may occur.
Club/Team Areas
Several options will be available at all events. Trackside space can be requested by BC affiliated clubs and Elite Teams, but based on the number of clubs and teams requesting space, trackside space cannot be guaranteed. The host club/organiser will contact all current BC registered BMX clubs and teams with options and booking times.

Catering
Catering on-site is provided. There will be several food points close to the track and catering will be open all weekend, including Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
A new Tesco store has opened ½ mile from the track on Grange Road. Local pubs and fast food are all located within a mile or 2 from the campsite.
Spectator & Rider Access
All spectators and riders will access the track area from the small gravel car park on Grange Road, opposite the campsite. NO VEHICLES will be allowed onto the grass area adjacent to the track, without prior permission.
Trading
All traders must book through: gosportbmxmembership@hotmail.co.uk by the 17th July. Only traders that can provide a valid PLI and a risk assessment may apply.
No unauthorised trading is allowed and anyone doing so will be escorted from the site.

Accommodation
The surrounding area has plenty of B&B’s, but as this is holiday season, they are booking up quick.
Camping
The onsite camping will accessed via Grange Rd, PO13 8AS. Camping will be to the left as you enter, with car parking to the right.
Each pitch will be given a 10m square area which will marked out. Sufficient space will be kept between lanes to ensure we comply with fire regulations.
Toilets and showers are located in the cricket pavilion to the far left of the camping end.
Disposable BBQs must be kept off grass. Any damage caused to the field by fire etc will be charged to the person making the camping booking.
Security
Security staff will be on site from Friday through to Sunday. Security is there for your safety. Gosport BMX Club and Gosport Borough Council are not responsible for the theft of any items. Please be vigilant at all times and report suspicious activity to a Gosport BMX Club official.
Bike marking may be in operation during the weekend. Please take advantage of this free service.
