– National Season Report –
The British BMX National series is over already? Really? Well, yes that’s a wrap on the 2015 season and the team really put on a great show this year.
The final rounds saw the team down to just three riders for various reasons that we’ll come to in a minute but first we’ll give the guys out on track the props they deserve.
Syd was back on track after cracking a bone in his wrist just 3 weeks earlier and he was as stylish as ever. His results showed how hard a comeback at national level can be, but he still made his way to the quarter finals and after a season that also included a broken collarbone he took the no.17 plate overall.
Shane has ruled the 15-16 cruiser class this year and he did it again in Birmingham with two more wins to take the National title. On 20″ he put his Krisis MX where it needed to be as he rode his way to his best ever seasons results. Two 5th places over the weekend saw him take the national no.6.
In the Elite end of things, Billy was out there radding it up with the fastest guys in the country. On day one he was looking well on point but a mare of a semi saw him sidelined from the main event. On day two he thoroughly redeemed himself and ripped around the track to take his spot on the gate for a 5th place finish and that set him up for a 3rd overall. Were so stoked for him as he thoroughly deserves his place after some seriously hard work through the year.
The TM was sidelined and will be out for a while. Jools broke his elbow at his home track in Braintree in a training crash. Hes had it wired back together and is on the long road back to recovery. The Vet still hung on to his rankings though and after a hard fought season for the flat pedal warrior he took 6th on 20″ and 8th in 40-44 cruiser.
That just leaves Joey. Were sad to say that Joey has decided that she is going to retire from competition. Since her return to racing in 2012 she has been an absolute star. Not only making two world finals, but winning the World Championships on our Krisis MX in 2012, showing not only that our bikes are of the highest quality, but that she is the real deal and we all wish her well in whatever it is she chooses to do. You know it will be rad!!
Massive thanks to all the team sponsors this year – Identiti Bikes, Gusset Bikes, Halo Wheels, ODI, TSG and all the guys at Ison Distribution who keep everything running smoothly.
Looking forward to the British Championships in Manchester at the end of the month!!
