Here is the first of our “Top 5 Tracks” articles, and this week we asked Joey Gough to tell us her favourite all time tracks.
For those of you who don’t know Joey ( Shame on you if you don’t!!!) she is one of the smoothest bike riders that I have seen , whether it be at the track or at the trails, and let me tell you , she is not scared to go BIG!!
Joey has been World no1 BMX’er , she is also a TRAILS BOSS!!! and one of the best 4X riders out there, you should check her Facebook page and have a look at the race and trails edits she posts, you will be impressed.
So here is Joey’s top 5 .
Crewe – fast, jumpy, downhill and awesome turns. I’ve never raced here but it’s one of my favourite tracks to session, I love every straight. It’s also miles from me, but well worth the trip!
Birmingham – I always like racing here and I love doing gates on that fast first straight. Only managed the first set on the Pro section, but I’m waiting for a massive tail wind to have another go!
Manchester, Platt Fields – Not somewhere I’d make special trip to go and ride, but I really enjoyed racing here this year. As much as I love tech tracks, this really worked for the amateur racing. I even liked racing on the smaller start hill, which I thought I would hate.
C&K Backyard – Feel privileged to have ridden here, as it’s such an awesome set up and totally unique. I could rip that pro set into the last brick paved turn all day and not get bored of it!
Trets, France – This track has a big jumpy 2nd straight that I could ride for hours, and a really fun 3rd straight rhythm with loads of options. On top of that, the dirt is orange, the start hill is bright blue, the sun nearly always shines and when you combine that with the surrounding picturesque mountains, it creates the most beautiful BMX track location I have been to.
