This weekend see’s rounds 6-7 of the national Bmx series roll up to Manchester’s Platt Fields Bmx track, this is a really good facility and track, and the racing should be fast and furious , it looks like the weather should be pretty good to , see you all bright and early on sat morn for practice!!
I have also just read that the National cycling center have taken over the running of Platt Fields Bmx track, hopefully this will be a good move for the track/club , and the track should be in tip top condition all year round, here is a little info from Rooster.
“Platt Fields is now managed by the National Cycling Centre so schedule and prices have changed. This will affect local riders more who may well have turned up on a whim to have a session as there are now timetabled slots for bookings, open sessions etc. It still seems great value for money despite price rise (£4 for non-Manchester resident – ie not an “M” postcode, for an open session of 4 hours…)
Manchester BMX Club sessions are unaffected by the changes. This new management should be a positive move, keeping a great outdoor track open and running smoothly! Enquiries have a new number: 0161 223 2244 (option 3)”
What are your opinions on this?? good move or bad move.
