This is good news taken from British Cycling’s website so the news is official! BC have selected the team to go to Canada for the last round of the 2012 World Cup series in Abbotsford Canada September 14-15th.
Olympic Podium Programme rider Shanaze Reade makes her first competitive appearance since the London Olympics. Olympic Academy Programme athlete and Stay Strong rider Kyle Evans is included after missing May’s BMX world championships in Birmingham with a shoulder injury.
Also selected are Grant Hill Haro Bicycles and Curtis Manaton Ultimate Pro BMX – both part of the Olympic Academy Programme – who will be looking to continue to build experience on the elite stage after competing in the world championships.

BMX Talk: It’s great to see Kyle, Grant and Curtis rewarded for recent good preformances. All three of these youngsters have been going fast at the end of the season. Curtis taking a win in Derby and on the podium again last weekend, Grant Hill looking really strong in Peteborough holding off Kyle who hade a charge at the end in Sunday’s final. Kyle looked fast winning all his moto’s also considering he’d just raced Friday night in Berlin and rode solidly all week at the Red Bull event. People have been wondering what Shanaze Reade would do after her disappointment of not medalling in London, so it’s awesome to see her back out there for the last big race of 2012. I’m sure she’ll be looking to take a win and show the World she’s still a contender on any given day. This is a positive move from Team GB sending 4 riders, good luck in Abbotsford and well done to the academy riders, the hard work is paying off.
