Broadway House has been the premier venue for UK BMX over the last decade and it’s sad that this weekends Brits is the last time we’ll get to race the fun track and enjoy the facility. The social side of racing at Cheddar has always added to events there. After the racing is done on top of the hill the festivities start in the bar…unless your part of Euro Dave and Barnards crew then the festivities start when the entry barrier goes up at reception.. We’ve all had a good time there over the years…. But all good things come to an end and I guess this marks the end of an era.
Many keen campers have already checked in for this weekend and are counting down the clock until practice. The weather forcast looks good and I’m predicting the biggest race in the UK for a long time! Grass roots racing has been on the up this year and we’re hoping that many first timers get to enjoy Cheddar and the atmosphere that makes the Brits the premier race of the year in the UK in a non home World Championship year.
One perfect lap or a stroke of good luck can get you one of these sweet 01 plates and the all important title… Who’s going to make it happen come final time?
Not long until we find out…
Whatever happens this weekend will be good fun and the finale in a great season for UK BMX racing.
Enjoy the weekend and good luck!
