MANCHESTER GEARS UP FOR THE UCI BMX SUPERCROSS WORLD CUP
ONE WEEK TO GO
With just one week to go until the world’s best BMX riders converge in Manchester for the second round of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup (9-10 April), all eyes are on the riders set to go head-to-head at the National Cycling Centre to stake their claim on this year’s series title.
Leading the Great Britain Cycling Team and looking to take to victory on his home track for the fourth consecutive time, double UCI BMX Supercross World Cup champion Liam Phillips is set to go up against fierce rivals including world champion Niek Kimmann (Netherlands), Connor Fields (USA) and round one winner Corben Sharrah (USA).
Nail-biting action is also expected in the women’s competition, as 2015 series winner and Olympic champion Mariana Pajón (Colombia) takes on former series titleholder and last year’s Manchester round winner Caroline Buchanan (Australia).
